While the actual headboard is beautiful and gets 5 stars in my opinion, the legs need to be at least 5 inches longer so that the bottom of the padded headboard clears the top of the mattress. The bottom 5 inches of headboard is lost behind the mattress. Then once the pillows are added even more of the headboard is lost. I have a standard box frame and very firm mattress so this is not due to extra height from a pillow top mattress. One cannot boost the overall height by adding anything to the bottom of the legs or else the the holes dont line up to attach metal frame to headboard. The extra height necessary needs to be added to the headboard between the bottom of padded area and predrilled holes on legs. This is a design flaw. One that could very easily be fixed with a little longer piece of wood for the legs by the manufacturer. So that you can tell where this headboard will line up for your particular mattress: the distance from the floor to the bottom of the padded headboard is 21 inches. The distance from the bottom of padded headboard to the top of the headboard before it starts to curve upward is 24 inches. I tried to get this information from houzz before I ordered it, but they were unable to obtain it from the manufacturer. Also be advised that you will need to buy the hardware (4 screws, washers and nuts) to attach headboard to your frame. Hope this helps.

I was a little hesitant to order a headboard without seeing in person. But it came out beautiful. Does not look cheap at all and very easy to assemble
