The item doesnt quite expand to 8 inches when it is unpacked. It is fine for kids or light weight adults but not thick enough for a heavier individual.

DO NOT BUY! It may be the worst mattress I or anyone else who has laid on it has ever slept on... Not only can you feel the coils (I weigh 130), but it is also cold... it is so uncomfortable that I have been asked if it’s a boxspring!

It was a horrible mattress that was nowhere near 8". We actually just threw it out...cannot return a product that comes in a vacuum sealed bag then boxed. Thats money I will never get back on a poorly represented product.

So it was easy to assemble. I thought it would be more “beefy”. It was light material. My main concern is when zipping the cover onto the frame with the tiny cheap zipper attached, it snapped off.
