I was a little surprised by how small this chest was. Sure, I read the measurements but it just looks really short in our large master bedroom with a high wedding cake ceiling. The laminate is of medium grade - not real wood. The drawers do not glide particularly smoothly but there is a detent that holds them in place when closed. One a positive note, the piece is very stylish.

Beautiful piece of furniture. Comes assembled. The drawers wobble back and forth and they dont stay closed well. The hardware is not the best.
