Contour Lock is your solution for sliding or shifting rugs where clearance may be required for doors or where one does not wish to raise the surface under the rug. Will add cushioning underfoot and works especially well runners and rugs of all sizes. Solid style felt and natural rubber rug padding offers a higher level of protection and comfort than some of the traditional open weave style rug padding with the same light weight concealable, easily handleable qualities of these pads. Dense 15oz sq/yd and 15oz natural rubber heat pressed and needle punched to a compact but comfortable 1/8" pile. Natural rubber provides a secure surface to counter any slipping hazards while the heat pressed felt fibers lock with the rug's backing and together it stops the rug from shifting or bunching and wrinkling. The pad will catch any dirt or contaminants that fall through the rug to stop them from reaching the floor and working into the floor's finish when the rug shifts. Made from the highest quality materials here in the USA. Low VOC pad with no adhesives, glues, PVC, and no added chemicals. Safe for your home & family. Is MBDC Cradle-to-Cradle, CRI Green Label Certified for GREEN air quality, and we contribute to LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) for low emitting materials, innovation in design, and use of recycled content. Good quality pad with felt on the top to keep rug from sliding and a rubber surface on the bottom. Makes walking across the rug much softer. Easy to trim excess with scissors. Love it!

This was the perfect rug pad for me and the rug I used it with (which I also bought from Houzz). The rubber side is sticky enough that the carpet doesn’t slide, but not so sticky that you can’t move it around if you need to make adjustments. The pad is thick and it makes the rug “cushiony” when you walk on it and actually adds an extra layer of insulation (I live in a house that was built in the late 1800s).
