Love this rug pad because it adds a little cushioning but also stays in place very well. I bought 2 3x5 pads to use...one at front door with small area rug and one to use at back door with more of an indoor/outdoor type rug and the pad works well with both of them. I definitely prefer it to the mesh type rug pads. It does add a little thickness to the rug, so measure first to ensure a door can clear it easily.

I like the thickness of this pad, and the fact that one side has grip and the other is smooth. It allows for it to work for rug on hard floors as well as rug on carpet. However, there are areas of the pad that are firm or hard, and areas that have more cushion. At first, I thought there was a wrinkle under the rug, or something stuck under the rug & pad. Then discovered the pad was causing the lumpy feeling. That causes it to not be very comfortable for lying on the rug.

This carpet pad is very sticky and will keep your rug in place. Had to trim it to fit my 7.6x9.5, but that was expected. It shed as I did this, hence the 4 stars.

This fits from edge to edge under my 4x6 Salisbury 4x6 rug which I also purchased here. Adds so much more comfort to the rug and keeps it from sliding around. You have got to have one of these if you have a quality rug to protect.
