Constructed from caribbean stoneware, it has a hard-wearing, impermeable finish and a high-quality exterior enamel that protects against metal marks and other damage from utensils. Fired at 2156 degrees Fahrenheit, it has 1% porosity, blocking moisture absorption which can lead to cracking, crazing, and rippling along the interior. It has a slight hourglass shape and a deep interior to accommodate several utensils with longer handles, as well as a flared top and Le Creuset's iconic concentric rings. Resistant to staining and flavor and odor absorption, it also has a virtually nonstick glazed interior that easily releases foods.
