While the hood was an attractive design and cost value, it came with an absurdly large electrical plug that was impossible to plug into the wall and be used in the minimal space that existed between the metal hood and the wall s the are flush. We had to have a recessed wall electrical outlet installed and the size of the 3 pronged plug was still too big to attach even to the recessed outlet in the very narrow space that existed between the wall and the unit to be flush, so a new flat plug had to be purchased and then rewired onto the electrical cord.itself. This was an engineering design flaw that should not have occurred given it is a flush mount unit to a wall and the unit back metal plate prevents using the pre installed electrical cord provided.

This range hood is very powerful — 760 CFM is more than needed for an average residential kitchen, especially with a 30” gas range. Building code requires a makeup air system for any fan over 400 CFM. In plain speak, the fan removes too much fresh air out of the room and you need a way to bring more fresh air in so you can breathe or don’t pull backdraft from a chimney or nearby furnace. So although the hood is quite inexpensive, make up air systems are not! HVAC company has to build a separate duct with electronic damper to outside, or you can buy some pre-made systems $2000+. You’ll need 760 CFM makeup. So, if you’re planning to get an inspection of your remodel, buyer beware.
