Wood beautifully carved and finished. Only concern is that the slate inset is not fastened or sealed into position. I can try to be careful but if a guest or family member is helping to clean up, I will have to remember to advise them that the slate is not fastened in. If it were to fall on my granite counters, stainless steel sink or tile floors, I would be left with a lovely (and quite pricey) cracker holder and no slate cheese slicing surface.
