Absolutely beautiful. Very heavy. Works perfectly to be manipulated for anyone to see as a reading lamp. Brass brilliant. Easy to assemble.

After reading many reviews, I ordered two of these lamps for my living room. I assembled the first one today. I am very impressed with the overall appearance of this lamp. Im editing this review after assembling the second one later. The second one had the switch installed crooked. That was pretty minor--not worth deducting a whole star. I especially like the heavily weighted base.

This is a good looking and sturdy, well-constructed lamp. It was easy to assemble and an excellent value for the price. I wish it had not been packed in the kind of styrofoam that sticks to everything and is difficult to clean up (and isnt biodegradable), but it arrived quickly and in perfect condition.
