As a retired senior, I require some sort of a cushion any time I get down on my knees. Preliminary tests of these show them to be very effective in eliminating ANY pressure on sensitive parts around my kneecap. The flat front surface over the "zero pressure" zone not only makes them comfortable, it makes these pads extremely stable. I was able to "walk" on my knees without worrying about the pads moving from in front of my knee joints. I havent used them over clothing enough to verify that the use of one strap that is not elastic will be a benefit. I suspect that was added for strength and stability. Time will tell me whether that aspect works optimally. The pads are very comfortable. The fasteners look sturdy and are easy to fasten and release. Highly recommended. By the way, I got the black ones...which I prefer.
