We have a really windy back deck so I knew we needed a heavy base for our umbrella. And sure enough, 75lbs makes a great anchor. The disappointment is the plastic components-- where the pole screws into the base are cheap plastic treads, and therefore the pole still wobbles around in the base. The tightening knob component is also plastic and I can tell these components wont last. Why not make those metal so they securely lock together without give? That would be a much better solution. Also, the "wheels" are more like tiny metal rollers. Our umbrella is on a wooden deck, so its impossible to move the thing without taking gauge marks into the deck. So, 5 stars for the solid heavy base, 2 or 3 stars for the plastic components, average 4.
