I purchased two of these stanchions for an outdoor kitchen we were having built. After an extensive search online, they were really the only option that worked with our design. We had holes drilled into the granite slab counters at each end. Since this area is not covered, the umbrellas will provide much needed shade without us having to have an umbrella with bulky base sitting next to the island. Houzz shipped them quickly and received them pretty much as expected. The only negative is that the bottom of the stanchion is open, not closed. My contractor had to figure out a way to stop the umbrella from slipping all the way down.
