This umbrella CANNOT be opened by one person. There is no hand crank. You have to push the top part up until the holes line up to insert the pin that holds it open which is VERY difficult! I spent 600.00 on 2 umbrellas that I cant use because of this. Very disappointing. Also, the thatch portion was never the same after it got wet. The texture changed to very stalky and brittle.
