Hi there, For the price, this is an excellent piece. The gray is just what it looks like in the picture. The tufting is done well and looks like it will hold up for a long time. Bonus: It was super easy to put together. I havent actually connected it to my bed yet, but will at some point. The mattress fits up to it nicely and is holding it in place. Although the bedding is going to change, here is what it looks like as of now. Not sure why the photo came in sideways.

This came within 5 days and was packaged well, all hardware and easy assembly instructions included. Better than expected. Would highly recommend!

This headboard was a dream to assemble with everything included (except a drill if you actually want to attach it to the bed). I paired it with a platform bed and platform bed mattress with a topper so we positioned the legs at the lowest height setting. The bottom of the headboard is resting on the top of the platform so there is no gap. We have the ability to raise it up later if we get a higher bed. The textured, tufted fabric has a very upscale look and is neutral enough to be perfect with any decor. Its also great for propping a pillow against for late night reading or tv viewing. I placed a clear, adhesive, padded dot on the back of each leg to serve as a bumper for the wall and the headboard does not shift at all, even without being attached to the platform bed frame. This was a great price for a very nice headboard!
