At Custom Metal Home, we take pride in building Range Hoods entirely to customer specifications. Zinc is quickly becoming one of the most popular materials in custom hoods. Zinc is a reactive material with a living finish,that will acquire a patina and unique pattern of use over time. We can speed up this aging process by hand-applying a patina that also slightly darkens the zinc. We recommend going with the darkened patina on the custom hoods because of the infrequent contact with the hood. Our hoods are engineered and manufactured in our suburban Chicago metal factory.
