The new caddy is okay. My older one is a thicker plastic and it has a hinged lid which is easier and faster to use. This lid does not flip up but has to be lifted off. I hope to be able to repair the crack on the bottom edge of my old caddy and use it again. I do not know the brand of my old one. I will keep the new one but it is not my favorite. I do like the smaller size vrs the larger size for fitting under a sink. Plus you dont have as much to hold so there are fewer fruit flys..
